WRITING OF COURSE PAPERS BY STUDENTS OF HIGHER EDUCATION, SPECIALTY 081 «LAW»

Abstract

The article defines the main stages of writing term papers in institutions of higher education. It is highlighted that the coursework is a certain completed stage of the training of the future lawyer, which has a distinct research character.

It has been proven that the research work of higher education graduates is a mandatory component of the professional training of future lawyers. It is substantiated that one of the ways of forming the general and professional competences of the future lawyer is to involve students of higher education in the specialty 081 «Law» in research work in the process of writing course, bachelor’s and master’s studies. It has been established that the academic integrity policy must be adhered to in order to write and defend term papers.

The purpose of the article is to describe the process of writing term papers in domestic institutions of higher education.

Conclusions. 1. Research work of students of higher education is a mandatory component of the professional training of future lawyers. 2. It is advisable to carry out the course work in the following sequence: choosing a topic; definition of the object and subject of research; determination of the purpose and objectives of the research; search and selection of sources and literature on the researched topic; compilation of the preliminary content of the work; presentation of theory and methodology; study of work experience; conducting an experiment (if necessary); formulation of conclusions and recommendations; writing an introduction; design of the list of used sources and applications. 3. The introduction of the coursework substantiates the relevance of the research under study, its practical significance; the object, subject, purpose and tasks of the research are determined; the methods by which it was carried out are considered; the structure of the work, its main content is revealed. 4. The process of writing a term paper is divided into three main stages: preparatory; stage of work on content; the final stage. 5. According to the requirements of the curriculum, writing term papers is mandatory, their failure to do so is considered an academic debt.
