ROLE PLAY IN PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF FUTURE TEACHERS OF UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE

The article attempts to analyze the peculiarities of using the role-playing method in the professional training of future teachers of the Ukrainian language and literature. It was established that a business game (didactic, situational role-playing, problem-role-playing, debating, creative, educational) is a simulation of real activity according to certain rules of game interactions in a specially created problem situation. It involves the implementation of a number of interrelated types of educational activities: analysis and search for solutions to problems, training, development, research, consulting, and formation of collective activities.
It is substantiated that role-playing games are the most appropriate at philological faculties, which are built on the basis of a game plot, and the task is provided with forms of game action. Role-playing games stimulate students' learning, create conditions for creative search, since it is always a collective setting and solving a problem through the performance of certain
roles by students.
Methodical recommendations for using the role-playing method based on Lesya Ukrainka’s dramatic poem «The Boіarynia» are offered, in particular, tasks aimed at checking the level of knowledge of the content of a literary work, establishing interdisciplinary relationships with theatrical, musical, visual arts, and performing creative tasks are offered.
It has been proven that role-playing games, which are used in the process of professional training of future teachers of the Ukrainian language and literature, should contribute to the formation of professional competences, in particular, to ensure a deeper understanding of the educational material, as well as to create a positive motivation for learning in general and mastering the chosen profession, provide an opportunity to manage in different types of role behavior, teach to control feelings and emotions and express them, allow to reproduce and simulate situations from the real professional activity of a teacher of Ukrainian language and literature, to expand and deepen the process of professional self-determination, selfimprovement and creative development of students.
