Abstract

The article characterizes the colloquium as a form of studying literature in institutions of higher education, reveals the peculiarities of the subjects of the educational form, defines the main functions of the colloquium, and proposes the classification of literary colloquiums.

The research methodology is based on the conceptual provisions of higher school didactics, methods and forms of organization of education in higher education institutions, on the developed system of creativity development of future teachers of literature in the context of their professional and methodological training.

It has been proven that colloquiums are an active form of studying literature in institutions of higher education. The colloquium is multifunctional, it performs the following main functions: controlling, cognitive, self-fulfilling, self-affirming, communicative, integrative, hedonistic, empathetic, plural, creative, emotional, facilitative, singular, interactive, educational. Depending on the role of the colloquium in the literary educational space of the institution of higher education and the tasks set before them, they are classified into different types.

It has been proven that well-prepared and skillfully conducted colloquiums are batteries for the scientific and spiritual development of future teachers of literature. The optimal selection and combination of methods at colloquiums contributes to students' understanding of literary material, the acquisition of skills and interpretation skills of artistic and critical texts. The use of dialogic methods contributes to the formation of such qualities as the ability to justify one's thoughts and creatively solve problematic tasks in the student of education; the ability to cooperate in the process of solving artistic tasks; tolerance towards opponents; the ability to analyze one's judgments, compare them with the views of the interlocutor. During the course of this educational form, each student is an individual in his originality and uniqueness.
