Abstract

The active implementation of the ideas of democracy and civic education by international institutions accelerates the introduction of civic education in domestic institutions of higher education that professionally train professionals in various specialties.

The purpose of the article is a definitive analysis of some aspects of civic education in higher education.

Civic education of future specialists of various specialties with higher education can be defined as a certain personal formation, the formation of which occurs in the process of implementing educational and educational systems of professional training in institutions of higher education.

Conclusions. 1. Civic education has a comprehensive character. 2. Ways of implementing civic education in institutions of higher education are different for the realization of goals. 3. Components of civic education in institutions of higher education: civic competence; civic maturity; citizenship; global citizenship; orientation to social justice. 4. Civic education in a national higher education institution takes the form of socio-cultural, value-mental, professional, moral-ethical and other knowledge, skills and abilities that motivate individual and group activity of an individual. 5. Trends in the implementation of civic education in institutions of higher education: «learning by doing» and the application of acquired knowledge and skills in life, directly in the university or community, civic education includes global citizenship education and human rights education (Human Rights Education) as one of the mandatory components, aimed at instilling in students of higher education values, attitudes and behavior that support responsible global citizenship: creativity, innovation and commitment to peace, human rights and sustainable development. 6. Formation of key competences in civic education in students of higher education of various specialties.
