METHODS OF TEACHING SOCIAL AND PEDAGOGICAL DISCIPLINES IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS OF UKRAINE

The article substantiates that the following are the traditional methods of teaching during the study of socio-pedagogical disciplines: narration; conversation; briefing; discussion; illustration; demonstration; observation; game; business, simulation, role-playing game; portfolio and innovative teaching methods. It is highlighted that among the modern innovative methods of teaching are the following: cross teaching; teaching through argumentation; casual teaching; contextual teaching; computational thinking; teaching while doing science; embodied teaching. It has been proven that the methods of teaching socio-pedagogical disciplines should correspond to the characteristics of the methods of social-pedagogical work: pedagogical, sociological, psychological, which ensure the removal of psychological stress. It was established that interactive methods of teaching socio-pedagogical disciplines include: method of problem presentation; presentations; discussions; case studies; work in groups; brainstorming method; method of critical thinking; business games; role games.
The purpose of the article is to analyze traditional and innovative methods of teaching socio-pedagogical disciplines in institutions of higher education.
Conclusions. Today, there are limitations, difficulties, and obstacles that higher education institutions and teachers face. The educational environment unites all teachers who want to change, motivates educational teams in the following directions of development: to learn and develop professionally; improve, not compete; not only adhere to traditional methods, but use new teaching technologies; to change stereotypes of thinking, taking into account the needs of the new generation of higher education seekers; to practice on situations from the real life of society, and not to follow established examples; «learn your own, and don’t shy away from someone else’s»; seek stakeholder support; demonstrate intellectual flexibility, not intellectual superiority; to study foreign methods and teaching methods in higher education.
