IMPLEMENTATION OF THE COMPETENCY APPROACH IN TEACHING THE COURSE «HISTORY OF UKRAINIAN LITERATURE AT THE PHILOLOGY FACULTIES OF PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITIES

The article outlines the peculiarities of the implementation of the competence approach in the process of teaching the academic discipline «History of Ukrainian Literature (XVI – XVIII centuries)» within the professional training of future teachers of the Ukrainian language and literature at the T.Н. Shevchenko National University «Chernihiv Colehium». On the basis of the analysis of the relevant educational and professional program, the general and professional competences, as well as the program learning outcomes, which should be formed by means of the educational discipline «History of Ukrainian Literature (XVI – XVIII centuries)» are characterized. It was established that they correlate with the competencies and program learning outcomes recorded in the professional standard for the professions «Teacher of primary classes of a general secondary education institution», «Teacher of a general secondary education institution», «Teacher of primary education (with junior specialist diplom)».
The tasks that were offered to students of higher education in the context of students’ independent work are characterized, in particular, they are aimed at finding quotes in works to characterize images, comparing works of baroque literature, performing artistic and ideological analysis of poetry, etc. It has been proven that they contribute to the effective formation of the professional competence of future teachers of the Ukrainian language and literature. The expediency of using innovative pedagogical technologies in the process of teaching this educational discipline is substantiated, in particular, an example of the use of the «inverted learning» technology is given, which assumes that the typical representation of the information volume of the material and the performance of practical tasks are changed.
It has been proven that, under the condition of proper organization, it will have a positive effect on the level of formation of professional competences, knowledge, abilities and skills of students, will contribute to increasing interest in academic disciplines and motivation to study in general.
