FORMATION OF CIVIC MATURITY OF HIGHER EDUCATION ACQUIRES AS A CURRENT DIRECTION OF PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION

Abstract

The article substantiates that the formation of civic maturity of students of higher education is a relevant direction of professional education in our time. It is proved that the theoretical foundations of the formation of civic maturity of higher education students are civic-patriotic education in the context of national-patriotic education. It is characterized that the criteria for the formation of civic maturity of higher education students are civic responsibility, civic initiative and activity, and patriotic consciousness. It was established that the goal of forming the civic maturity of students of higher education in various specialties at the universities of Ukraine is to educate young people in the spirit of patriotic duty, respect for military service and readiness to defend Ukraine. It is highlighted that the process of forming the civic maturity of higher education students ensures patriotism and civic-patriotic education both within the educational process and outside the classroom.

The purpose of the article is to analyze the process of formation of civic maturity of students of higher education as a relevant direction of professional education.

Conclusions. 1. The formation of civic maturity of students of higher education in our time is an actual direction of professional education. 2. The theoretical foundations of the formation of civic maturity of students of higher education are civic-patriotic education in the context of national-patriotic education. 3. We consider civic responsibility and civic initiative and activity, patriotic consciousness to be the criteria for the formation of civic maturity of students of higher education. 4. The goal of forming the civic maturity of students of higher education in various specialties at the universities of Ukraine is to educate young people in the spirit of patriotic duty, respect for military service and readiness to defend Ukraine. 5. The formation of civic maturity of students of higher education ensures patriotism and civic-patriotic education.
